A walk in the Alster and in Hamburg-Uhlenhorst

While in southern Germany snow is falling, here in Hamburg the sky was clear. We had 2 or 3 degrees over zero though. But spring is here and we decided to go for a walk around the Alster. Normally, we go for a walk around the lower part of the river-lake, but this time we made it up, opposite downtown Hamburg.

The Alster is a river-lake right in the middle of Hamburg. You have the lower Alster or Bienennalster, which is some meters away from the City hall or Rathaus. And then you have the upper Alster or Außenalster. The first photo above, is a view from the Außsenalster of Hamburg. You can see the churches of Hamburg, including the "Der Michel" and the Rathaus as well.

It was the first time we were in this part of Hamburg, which we got to know later is called Uhlenhorst. As I said, is in the north of the Außenalster, and of Hamburg of course. It has a very good view of the city and of the lake. It has lovely canals and bridges. We really enjoyed it.
