Bottcherstrasse in Bremen

The entrance to the Bottcherstraße in Bremen coming from the Rathaus

Buildings in the Bottcherstraße in Bremen

My last finding in Bremen is the Böttcherstraße. As I said in my previous post, I can't believe I missed it in my previous visits to Bremen. This was at least my seventh or sixth visit, and I was astonished by the beauty of the buildings. For me, the Böttcherstraße, is like a German Line of Buildings designed by someone with the talent of Gaudi.

Sadly, the man that had the initiative for the Böttcherstraße was a nazi sympathiser. This makes it somehow difficult to truly enjoy the beauty of the buildings, the street and everything as a whole.

The Böttcherstraße has gone through several owners since 1992, when most of the buildings were built. Right now it is owned by a Foundation of the Sparkasse of Bremen and houses a museum, shops and some restaurants. All this information I got it from Wikipedia, I advice you to go there if you want more information about the Böttcherstraße.

If you go to Bremen, go directly to the Rathaus. Stand with your back to the Rathaus and then you will see a small street at the end of the Platz down. This small street leads you to the Böttcherstraße.
