Today, as in many posts of the life in Germany blog, I want to refer to another peculiar building of Hamburg, Germany. Many of the posts of this blog refer to Architecture, as I believe is a strong characteristic of the German culture. In most of the German cities you will find new buildings with futuresque and modern design. In Stuttgart you will and in Berlin as well as in München. And Hamburg is no exception. The building "Am Kaiserkai 56" is a living proof.
In the southern area of Hamburg, behind the Speicherstadt, were loads of new buildings are being built, the "Am Kaiserkai 56" has already people living in it. The architect behind it is Scaven Hütz, and houses not only departments but also offices.
We walked around the area some months ago, when there were still cranes around "Am Kaiserkai 56" and I took some photos of it. And when we returned some weeks ago, it was already finished. I really like the balconies, and the perspective of the photos seem to show how the balconies aim to the sky.
