The Eppendorfer Landstrassenfest in Hamburg

The Eppendorfer Landstrassenfest in Hamburg

As I am from a country where the most of the time the weather is warm, and when it is so, it is no news, I have forgotten to mention how warm at the moment is in northern Germany. I believe in southern Germany is raining and in southern europe is not as good as here in Hamburg. Right now it is almost 30 degrees celsius. That would be around 86 degrees fahrenheit.

So, on saturday we went for a walk. I could not believe it. Just less than two months ago I was still wearing a coat and a scarf. Now I am too warm and I am frustrated I can't find my sandals, perhaps they are still in the last boxes from when we moved to Hamburg, or I just left them in Barcelona.

Anyway, we decided to visit the "Eppendorfer Landstrassenfest". It was a street festival in the Eppendorf area in Hamburg. The neighborhood has very nice houses and interesting shops. Looks like it is one of the expensive areas of Hamburg to live. Not the most expensive, but probably, among the top ones.

The festival was nice. It was a line of stands set up in one street that crosses Eppendorf. You could find from your average stand that you find in each German festival (selling sausages or sweets), stands promoting political parties, cars, banks, home made products (food, handcraft), restaurants, and best of all: a fleamarket.

Looks like the neighbors of Eppendorf take advantage of this special day to get rid of the stuff they do not need anymore, they never needed, or they don't like. Stuff like clothes, electrical apliances, books, furniture, etc. Even children set their small stands to get some money for their used toys or stuff they got from their parents.

And at one end of the street there was a stage where some groups were playing. And just when we were leaving there was some blues music. I loved it and I stayed for around 30 minutes. I recorded a video and here it is for you. The name of the musician is Abi Wallenstein.
