My life in Hamburg: an update

This weekend a friend of my wife came to visit us here in Hamburg. Yes, we had another visit, right one week after our last one. It is summer, and I guess everybody wants to take advantage of the weather and the fact that we are here in Hamburg. In a good way of course. The photo above is inside the Hamburg Rathaus (city hall), and the fountain and the nice windows and towers. I wish I had a reflex digital camera, in my photos the shadows and contrasts could be much better. I will buy one soon for sure.

I am looking forward for the reply for the last job interview I had. Some of you have wished me good luck and I thank you for that. It helps to hold on better and be patient, they told me to wait for some weeks. It is already almost two weeks tomorrow. Let's see. Meanwhile my wife is still looking for another job, she has had some offers already which she has declined. She wants to be sure that she has a job where she is happy and comfortable. She does not want to make the same mistake again, to be in a company where she is frustrated, she does not like the product they sell, and the load of work is huge.

Me on the other side, I am already working on a project for a start-up that I am planning to create here in Hamburg. Regardless if I get a job or not, I am planning to go ahead with this. I'll let you know more about this project in some weeks, but it thrills me, as I believe it has huge potential. Of course it is related to internet. Sometimes I believe I should not wait for a person to have an idea for a company and then later to hire me. It is better if you have the control, don't you think?

And the Euro 2008 is still going on. At least in 6 countries in Europe. And here in Germany specially as the German team is now on the semifinals. I am following the event with great interest. Here in Hamburg there is place - public viewing - where you can go and see the game with more people. But I just don't want to go. Specially now when Germany is playing against Turkey. Things might bet a bit difficult among the fans of both teams. I hope not of course.

I am for Germany of course, but it won't be that bad if Turkey wins. The last games of Turkey have been spectacular.

My German course finishes this week and I am not sure whether I will go on with another two months of the course. I hope the I get news about the job this week, so I can make some decisions about the German classes and other stuff. And I got 200 euro taxes back from Spain.

200 euro for books? a wii? savings? a short trip to Barcelona? I'll let you know.
